Frequently Asked Questions
How can I learn about Jordanian higher education institutions and choose the university/college I want to study at?
+
The "Study in Jordan" website provides all the detailed information that international students need about the various majors, degrees, and academic programs offered at different Jordanian higher education institutions—whether universities, university colleges, community colleges, or institutes, whether public or private. You can search on the website using the name of the university, college, major, or degree. Note that this list is updated each semester when the application period opens at the beginning of each academic term (First, Second, Summer).
What is the study system used in Jordanian higher education institutions? When does the academic year start and end in Jordan?
+
The academic year usually extends from September (9) or October (10) until June (6), with breaks between semesters. Jordanian universities and colleges use the semester system (two compulsory semesters), except for Medicine and Dentistry, which follow the annual system. In addition, most universities offer an optional summer semester between the second and first semesters.
What system/program can international students be admitted through at Jordanian higher education institutions?
+
International students study under the International Program or the Cultural Exchange Program, provided that cultural exchange agreements exist between the two countries and include allocated seats. To benefit from cultural exchange seats, students must contact the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the concerned authority in their home country, or their country’s embassy in Amman/Jordan.
How can an international student apply to any Jordanian university or college?
+
After browsing the "Study in Jordan" website and selecting the university/major you want, you can apply through the "Apply Now" link on the website and follow the steps. This application allows you to receive an admission offer from any public or private university/college within 48 hours of submitting the application, or a rejection with the reason provided.
What is the application fee? Does an international student need any intermediary to obtain admission?
+
The application fee through the "Study in Jordan" website is only (35) Jordanian Dinars or (50) USD. You can obtain admission from the university/college you choose without needing any intermediary. The application process is easy, with an explanatory video available, and various contact methods if assistance is needed. Therefore, we advise avoiding intermediaries to prevent fraud.
How can an international student pay the application fee?

The fee (35 JOD or 50 USD) can be paid through the "eFAWATEERcom" electronic payment service available outside Jordan. If the student faces any payment issues, they can contact us via WhatsApp at (+962779616691).
How can an international student learn about admission averages, streams, or general conditions governing admission into majors, degrees, and academic programs at Jordanian universities/colleges?

If an international student wants to apply to multiple universities, must they submit more than one application?
+
The unified application for international students on the "Study in Jordan" website includes ten choices. The student can list these in one university or in several universities. If the student is accepted into their first choice, they will receive an admission message. If not accepted, the application moves to the next choice, and so on. Only one application fee of 35 JOD (50 USD) is required regardless of the number of choices.
Is admission to all Jordanian public and private higher education institutions only through the "Study in Jordan" website?
+
According to the Higher Education Council, admission to all public universities/colleges—regardless of major, degree, or program—is exclusively through the "Study in Jordan" application. For private universities/colleges, the student may apply either through the unified application on the website or directly to the university/college. The website lists all public and private institutions with links to their official websites.
How can an international student applying for a diploma or bachelor’s degree be sure they meet the admission conditions related to their type and average in high school?
+
After the student submits their application, uploads their documents, and pays the fee, their application is sent to the Jordanian Ministry of Education for verification. If documents are correct, the average and stream are calculated, then the application is forwarded to the chosen university/college. If documents are missing, the application is returned to the student for completion. After arriving in Jordan, the student must visit the Ministry of Education to authenticate or equivalize their original high school certificate.
Can the international student track the status of their application?
+
Yes, through email notifications sent to the email address stored in their application. These emails come from the Ministry of Education portal or the university/college portal.
What types of admission can international students receive through the "Study in Jordan" application?
+
There are three types of admission:
• Final Admission: All documents are complete and the student is ready to pay full tuition fees.
• Provisional Admission: The student needs an initial acceptance letter for scholarship procedures or official approval from their home country.
• Conditional Admission: Some documents or specific required conditions are missing and the student needs time to complete them.
After receiving admission, how does the international student register credit hours and pay tuition fees?
+
After completing the application and receiving the admission letter, the letter will include full details on completing admission procedures, registering credit hours, and paying tuition fees according to the university/college regulations.
Do Jordanian higher education institutions use online/remote learning?
